Can Teenagers Lose Weight without Trying Too Hard

A lot of teens are obsessed to how the world of magazines and television shows associate sexy to being skinny. Teens are conditioned to think that for them to feel sexy; they should be as thin as the supermodels displaying their bodies in fashion shows and in glamorous magazines. This is perhaps the most obvious reason why weight loss programs are so popular amongst the teens. Many teens are even lured into drugs that promise them the body that they want. What's alarming is that these teenagers are no longer concern whether they are using safe drugs or not. For example, although the drug used in HCG weight loss has been banned for human use, many weight loss products containing this drug still find their way into the hands of these teens.

I want to emphasize that having a slim body is not wrong, in fact, it is a legitimate goal if indeed a teenager knows for herself or himself that a slimmer body will definitely make her or him happier. However, what's wrong is in the way these kids try to achieve this kind of body. Many teenagers don't even realize that they do not have to result to drugs and diet pills in order to be "sexy" (should we associate skinny bodies alone to being sexy). They could have done other methods to stay fit without using artificial drugs. Here are some examples:

-          Brushing our teeth every after meal is known to help us curb or cravings for food. Experts suggest that if teens develop the habit of brushing with mint toothpaste then they could have avoided the craving to chew on some mint candies which contain sugars. Many people also agree that after brushing, the taste of food becomes distorted, discouraging further eating.

-          By setting the kitchen an "eating zone" only (well, parents should take part on this), teens are less likely to stay long in the kitchen where food is readily available. Move the computer and the television far from the kitchen so that no one will be tempted to munch while enjoying other activities which are supposed to not involve food.

-          Cut down your sugar intake. You don't need to buy HCG shots to help you metabolize the sugar you have taken in. Instead, you can choose to not eat extra sugary foods at all! You may want to start with your morning drink or with the cereals that you eat.

-          Do you know that the body's metabolism is greatly improved by water? Taking in at least 8 glasses of water a day will surely get your metabolism going.

-          Too much stress can make you fat. Many teenagers are in the stage of their lives when they get too much stress from studies, friends, relationships and other stuff. Some also become stressed because they are forced to follow a diet plan that they really find hard to master. The best way to avoid stress while keeping the weight loss agenda in mind is to call friends and family members to join you in one of your exercise routines.
